Thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped make Woodland
Dunes Nature Center, our programs and special events so successful.
If you enjoy nature, want to
work in a peaceful, beautiful natural setting, and would
like to volunteer to help us in our mission of land preservation and environmental education, we'd
like to meet you. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities; there's sure to be something that interests
you.
Although we have just started
our summer day-care visits, we are already looking ahead to autumn and the resumption
of school programs. Volunteers would be especially welcomed
to help as teacher-naturalists, both in our traditional programs and in new programs
we are developing. We offer extensive training, and a great group of people to work with.
Other volunteer opportunities abound. We need help with maintenance and cleaning of our facilities, both indoors
and out. If you are experienced in marketing and fund-raising, you might consider
helping with with an up-coming membership drive. Those interested in Saw-whet Owls might want to volunteer
for our Night Gang, which helps with our banding program.
Our friends group, the Friends
of Woodland Dunes, organizes and runs our larger events: Owlfest, the Winnie Smith Harvest Dinner,
Christmas for the Birds, and Bird Breakfast. If you would like to use your knowledge and skills
in this field, and meet and work with congenial people, you would be most welcome!
If you would like to be a part of any of these please call us
at 793-4007 for more information!
