FEATURED AUTHOR AND BOOKS:
Stan Tekeila is a naturalist and wildlife
photographer who writes a syndicated nature column and appears on several nature radio shows.
He has writen Nature Smart, Start Mushrooming, and Plantworks, but his field guides to
Wisconsin wildflowers, trees and birds are the most popular in the Nature Shop.
Wildflowers of Wisconsin is a field guide to 200 plants,
each shown in a full-page photograph. The descriptions include essential information
for identification and Stan's notes, which give interesting, less known facts about
each plant. Icons make visual identification quick and easy. In addition to the more
familiar woodland plants, Tekiela includes plants typical of our native prairies. $16.95
Trees of Wisconsin is a field guide to 101 species of only those trees
that are found in our state. An interesting feature is a small sketch of each tree shown in
comparison with a two-story house. Full-page phototgraphs are complemented by full-page descriptions. Stan's
notes include naturalist information and unusual facts. $12.95
Birds of Wisconsin is a field guide to 111 species of common species. Only
birds found in our state are included. Range maps, updated photos and focused information make
this guide a very useful tool.As with his other guides, Stan's Notes provide fascinating tidbits and facts.
Tracks on a companion CD are keyed to the book with a CD icon on each page. book: $12.95; CD, $14.95
New! Reptiles and Amphibians of Wisconsin with companion CD. This flies off our shelves as
fast as it comes in. Call to make sure it's in stock before coming by. $14.95 for book AND CD.
