Ethnobotany: Plants for Health, Nourishment and Fun!
Tuesday, June 16, noon to 2 p.m. Join herbalist and wild-forager Linda Conroy to learn about incorporating wild edibles and herbs into your life. Discussions, a slide presentation, samples, and a plant walk will inspire you. Resources, tips for identification and instruction included. Teacher-Naturalist training: open to current and potential TNs only. Call to register.
Manitowoc River Rendezvous
Saturday, June 27, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Paddle your own canoe or kayak or register to be part of a group paddling a voyageur canoe past natural and historical points along the Manitowoc River. Meet fur trade re-enactors. Learn how your actions at home can help conserve and restore your watershed. Free admission to Wisconsin Maritime Museum all day. Call Wendy at (920) 684-0218 to register. Entomology 101: The Journey Begins
Tuesday, July 21, 10 a.m. to noon Join Linda Williams, state entomologist, on a search for our six-legged friends. After an indoor talk we will head outside to catch, identify, and learn about the insects living here. As part of this class we will also make a pinned collection for future reference. Teacher-Naturalist training: open to current and potential TNs only. Call to register.
Wildflower Plant ID Hike
Tuesday, July 21, 6:30 p.m. Learn about our wonderful wildflowers and how to use them in your garden on this hike sponsored by the Lake Woods Chapter of Wild Ones.
Aegolius Bird Club
Open to anyone interested in the conservation and appreciation of birds. The club meets the second Tuesday of each month at at 7 pm at Woodland Dunes for a program, and also for a monthly field trip.

Wild Ones, a national organization of people interested in learning more about the conservation of native plants and their use in landscaping meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the nature center headquarters. Each meeting includes an education program, and the public is invited.
